The British singer says she felt 'incredibly isolated' during the ordeal and has poured it out on some tracks on her new album 'No Shame'.

AceShowbiz - Pop star Lily Allen is still recovering from her seven-year stalker hell, revealing she has poured out her worst fears in the lyrics to the songs on her new album. The "Smile" singer opened up on fellow singer George Ezra's podcast recently, revealing her obsessed fan left her feeling isolated and forced her to withdraw from friends and family.

"He intended to kill me," she told Ezra. "It really spun me out... It was a really horrendous experience."

Allen spent seven years living in fear and trying to convince police officials to take action until Alex Gray, 33, was caught after sending abusive letters and breaking into her home in 2016.

"It wasn't validated by the police, they just tried to play it down," she added. "It wasn't until the trial that I found out what his intentions were. Because of the lack of validation from the police, I didn't feel like I could talk to anyone about it - not even my friends or my family. When a crime is committed, their point of reference to how serious it is..."

So, desperate for help, Lily turned to music as a way of coping with the drama, adding, "I just became incredibly isolated. I cut off from everybody. I was spending all of my time at home. I slept a lot, I cried a lot. I was going to the studio to work, but I think that all of my music has always been about my lived experiences."

"While I haven't really written about that experience, on previous albums I wrote about what I was seeing; that was me being out in the world and socializing, and having relationships and friendships. I covered all of those things. This time I wasn't. I was at home on my own."

Some of the tracks on new album "No Shame" will detail what she went through at the height of her stalker hell.
