Deadpool Wants to Recruit Hugh Jackman for His X-Force Team in New Clip
Movie

The Wolverine depicter is actually trying to deliver a happy birthday message to someone when the Merc with a Mouth crushes it by singing in the background.

AceShowbiz - During a Thursday, April 26 CinemaCon presentation of 20th Century Fox, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds's the Merc with a Mouth appeared to promote "Deadpool 2". A video then was played to introduce the studio's distribution chief Chris Aronson. The video showed a collaboration between Reynolds' Deadpool and Jackman. However, it turned out that the video was not the only one featuring them together.

Jackman shared on Twitter a video of him wishing someone a happy birthday and apologizing for not being with them. In the video, he sat at the edge of a bed in a hotel room while delivering the birthday message. Then, he was interrupted by Reynolds' Deadpool, who was singing softly while lying cozily in the same bed. Jackman captioned the video with, "When you're trying to record a heartfelt birthday message .... but are interrupted by the least greatest showman. @VancityReynolds."

Deadpool's obsession with Jackman dates back when Reynolds debuted as a maskless Wade Wilson in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine". Unfortunately, that version of the character was widely criticized and the movie was also panned.

Reynolds later brought the character back in an R-rated movie "Deadpool". In a scene of the movie, Wade Wilson cut out Jackman's face from a cover of PEOPLE magazine and stapled it onto his face to hide his scarred face from his girlfriend.

"Deadpool 2" releases a new colorful banner ahead of its May release

While fans want to see a collaboration of Deadpool and Wolverine in big screens, unfortunately, Jackman has announced his retirement from the role. During a Facebook Live Q&A last year, Jackman said, "Look, if that movie had appeared ten years ago, it'd be a totally different story." He added, "But I knew 2.5 years ago that this was the last one. The first call I made was to Jim [Mangold]. I said, 'Jim, I got one more shot at this.' As soon as I got with Jim and started working on the idea of it, I was never more excited. But it feels like the right time... Deadpool, go for it, man. You do your thing. You don't need me."

Although it is too late to hope that Jackman may appear in "Deadpool 2" as a cameo, it's not too late to buy a ticket for the movie. "Deadpool 2" will hit U.S. theaters on May 18.
