'My inspiration was a statue, ' the 'Keeping up with the Kardashians' star says, adding that she's 'always loved the [Jean Paul] Gaultier bottles.'

AceShowbiz - Kim Kardashian has responded to allegations that she ripped off the design for her new perfume bottle. The reality TV personality has expanded her successful beauty line to include fragrances in the past year and unveiled KKW Body earlier this week begins April 23, with the new product bottled in a flacon modelled after her famous figure.

However, many social media followers have been quick to draw comparisons between Kim's perfume bottle and the iconic design of Jean Paul Gaultier's Classique, with the star now forced to explain that her bottle was influenced by a number of elements.

"Sculptures were my inspiration," she told Cosmopolitan.com. "It's iconic and celebrates the woman's body, but my inspiration was a statue. I wanted [mine] to be really personal with my exact mould, but I've always loved the Gaultier bottles".

In recent days, Kim has shared a number of images showing the process of her being covered in white clay in order to make the mould for the bottle. And the brunette beauty added that she isn't only going to use the master design for the perfume bottle, but also for another project.

"We were making a mould of my body for the fragrance, but we were also making it to make a big sculpture," the 37-year-old shared.

Meanwhile, representatives for Gaultier have appeared to thrown shade at Kim's new perfume bottle. Uploading an image of Classique, which was first launched in 1993, onto the company's Instagram page on Thursday, the snap was accompanied with a caption that referred to the title of Kim's reality TV show - "Keeping Up with the Kardashians".

"Keeping up with the fragrance's news! #Classique#JeanPaulGaultier #KKW," one the message read, while another added, "Hitting hard since 1993".

KKW Body, which features notes of peach nectar, rose and musk, is priced at $60 and will be available to purchase from 30 April.
