'The Nun' Releases First Teaser Image Featuring Frightening Valak

Wearing her iconic black and white dress with a long black veil, the demonic nun shows a frightening look at the camera as if saying, 'I will hunt you to death.'

AceShowbiz - People who easily get scared are highly recommended to grab something to cover their faces as "The Conjuring 2" spin-off "The Nun" has released its eerie first-look teaser image. On the contrary, "The Conjuring" fans may be excited seeing the image that shows the awesomely creepy Valak who first appeared in "The Conjuring 2".

The image sees Valak wearing her iconic black-and-white dress with a long black veil. Her sharp gaze pierces through the camera. She raises its wrinkly and dirty right arm, flaunting a ring on her ring finger. She raises her arm as if declaring that she will hunt everyone she sees to death.

"The Nun" centers on a priest, who has a haunted past, and a novitiate. They are sent by Vatican to investigate a mysterious suicidal death of a young nun at the Carta Monastery in Romania. Together they uncover unholy secret of the order. They risk their lives and souls to battle a malevolent force in the form of demonic nun.

"The Conjuring 2" spin-off no longer sees exorcists Ed and Lorrain Warren, played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga respectively. Instead, the movie stars Demian Bichir as Father Burke, who is sent to investigate the demonic nun. However, the movie will see the return of Bonnie Aarons as Valak.

Joining the cast are Taissa Farmiga who plays Sister Irene, Charlotte Hope who portrays Sister Victoria and Ingrid Bisu who is cast as Sister Oana. Also among the cast members are Jonas Bloquet who plays Frenchie, Jonny Coyne who portrays Gregoro and Mark Steger who is cast as The Duke. There are also Sandra Teles, Manuela Ciucur, Ani Sava, Jared Morgan and August Maturo.

"The Nun" is directed by Corin Hardy based on the script written by Gary Dauberman and James Wan. Alongside Peter Safran, James also serves as producer.

The movie has been dated for a September 7 release in the United States.
