The Mexican boxer's planned May fight with Gennady Golovkin has been scrapped after the result of the test is revealed.

AceShowbiz - Boxing champion Canelo Alvarez has been suspended from the sport for six months after failing a steroids test.

The Mexican star's May fight with Gennady Golovkin has already been scrapped amid the drama, which Canelo has blamed on tainted meat.

He's now hoping to reschedule the big fight for September, after his ban ends, according to TMZ.

The boxer tested positive for banned performance-enhancing drug Clenbuterol in March. The ban is retroactive to the date of the test.
