Claiming that he has made peace with former bandmate Jon Bon Jovi, Richie says there was nothing awkward about playing with Bon Jovi again.

AceShowbiz - Richie Sambora hasn't ruled out another get together with Bon Jovi after joining his old bandmates for their induction in to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday night, April 14. The guitarist joined Jon Bon Jovi and company for a hits medley onstage in Cleveland, Ohio, for the first time since he quit the group five years ago, and insists there was nothing awkward about being a member of Bon Jovi again.

"It's always great to see the guys," he tells Billboard. "There's a lot of love here, that's for sure. When I first walked in, we hadn't seen each other in three years, and they go, 'Does it feel awkward?' No, it doesn't feel awkward at all. I mean, they're my songs." He adds, "I was in that band for 31 years. I played those shows every night. I could do this stuff sleepwalking."

And the Hall of Fame reunion could lead to other gigs for Richie and his old bandmates. "We'll see. You never say never," he adds. "It's not in any immediate future plan, that's for sure. It's just not."

Sambora doesn't regret walking away from one of the biggest bands in the world, admitting it was time to take care of life off the road. "(Being) in such a huge organisation, tours are 16-and-half months," he explains. "The last tour I did with the band was 18-and-a-half months. You miss a lot of life, man. You come home (and) s**t (has) changed. Divorce, birth, death... Normal life's ups and downs. Little tragedies. Love, joy. You miss all those things... (and) we weren't a band that took a lot of time off."

"My daughter needed me at that time; my dad's dying of cancer (and) I was in the middle of a s**tty divorce, and I busted my shoulder up... And it was like, 'You know, I think the universe is telling me to take a break for a while'. I needed to do something different, and quite frankly," he admits.

But, after an initial war or words with Jon Bon Jovi, Richie admits the two are on great terms. "He came up and kissed me (at rehearsals); I kissed him back," Richie recalls. "He said, 'I love you'; I said, 'I love you, too, man. Let's get it on.' "
