Talking about the movie, Claire says, 'It was the story of Lisbeth and where she's come from, where she's going to. At the beginning of the story, you sort of find somebody who's looking for what their purpose in life is, really.'

AceShowbiz - After a long time, "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" sequel is finally in production. In a photocall featured in a newly-released featurette for "The Girl in the Spider's Web", Claire Foy, who plays computer hacker Lisbeth Salander, sports the character's iconic haircut.

The featurette shows her posing alongside movie director Fede Alvarez and castmate Sverrir Gudnason. The actress also posts on her Instagram account a picture of her with short haircut and captions it, "Are you ready for Lisbeth Salander?"

Talking about the movie, Claire says, "Fede always told me that it was the story of Lisbeth and where she's come from, where she's going to. At the beginning of the story, you sort of find somebody who's looking for what their purpose in life is, really."

Norwegian actor Sverrir, who is cast as Mikael Blomkvist, comments on the movie's new take on Lisbeth. He says that this new version of Lisbeth is "very up to date to what's happening in the world right now."

The movie is the second U.S. movie adaptation based on novels started by Stieg Larsson. After Stieg's death in 2004, "The Girl in the Spider's Web" was written by David Lagercrantz. The movie follows a computer hacker and a journalist who find themselves caught in a web of spies, cyber criminals and corrupt government officials.

Joining the cast are Sylvia Hoeks who plays Listbeth's estranged twin sister Camilla Salander, Claes Bang who is cast as a villain, Cameron Britton who portrays a computer expert, and LaKeith Stanfield who plays NSA security expert Alona Casales. Meanwhile, details of characters played by Stephen Merchant, Synnove Macody Lund, Vicky Krieps and Andreja Pejic have not been announced yet.

Fede directs the movie from the script written by Steven Knight. Meanwhile, Scott Rudin and Amy Pascal are among those who produce the movie.

Previously, "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" director David Fincher planned to film a sequel in December 2011. In September 2014, David stated that the script written by Andrew Kevin Walker was "extremely different from the book," and that he was confident that the film would be made. However, in November 2015, Sony planned to reboot the movie and Alicia Vikander was eyed to play the main character. In the following year, it was announced that Fede was set to helm the upcoming sequel with Claire playing Lisbeth.

"The Girl in the Spider's Web", which started shooting in Berlin and Stockholm in January, is set for a November 9 release in the United States.
