Witherspoon looks shocked and Streep smiles while filming a scene with Nicole Kidman in the photo taken from the set of the upcoming second installment of HBO's hit series.

AceShowbiz - It's a dream come true! Reese Witherspoon has finally been spotted filming "Big Little Lies" season 2 with Meryl Streep after previously gushing about having the veteran actress join the cast for the show's new season.

Streep, Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman were seen filming a scene on location at Lovers Point in Monterey, California on Thursday, April 12. While Streep looked relaxed and smiled as she sat on a wooden chair, Witherspoon looked shocked with her mouth agape. It's unclear, though, what scene they were filming.

Witherspoon also took to Instagram to share a new set photo with Kidman and their new fluffy co-star, a white pooch. "Introducing Jolly. He has the best hair of all the cast !! #BigLittleLies @nicolekidman @hbo," she wrote in the caption.

In the second season, Witherspoon reprises her role as Madeline Martha Mackenzie, and Kidman returns as Celeste Wright. Streep is tapped to porytay Mary Louise Wright, Celeste's mother-in-law and the mother of Celeste's abusive husband, Perry Wright (Alexander Skarsgard), who was presumed dead in the first season finale. The official description of Mary Louise reads, "Concerned for the well-being of her grandchildren following her son's death, Mary Louise arrives in Monterey searching for answers."

Kidman previously shared the first photo of Streep on the set of the HBO hit drama series. The three-time Oscar-winning actress was featured with Kidman and two child actors, who play Kidman's on-screen sons.

Shailene Woodley is back as Jane Chapman, Laura Dern returns as Renata Klein and Zoe Kravitz still portrays Bonnie Carlson. In the new season, Renata will face new challenges in her own marriage, while Jance continues to rebuild her life with son Ziggy as she processes the death of her attacker Perry. Bonnie's parents will also be introduced in season 2.

Written by David E. Kelley and directed by Andrea Arnold, the 7-episode season 2 of "Big Little Lies" is expected to arrive in 2019.
