AceShowbiz - George Clooney wishes nothing but his bestfriend Brad Pitt happiness. And it seems like to him, MIT professor Neri Oxman, who is rumored to be dating Brad, may bring happiness to the "Allied" actor following his infamous split from Angelina Jolie.
"George would be thrilled to see Brad get serious with Neri," a source says to HollywoodLife.com. "This new connection is clearly good for Brad, he's got a spring in his step again."
It is also said that another reason why George is trying to push Brad for Neri is that his wife Amal Clooney will get a like-minded friend in the process. "He knows it would score points with Amal. He's always trying to impress her, he still has her on this huge pedestal," shares the source. "He loves the idea of them all going out on double dates, he's sure that it would please his wife to be spending time with other super well educated woman."
While it remains to be seen as to how far Brad and Neri's relationship is, one certain thing is that the 54-year-old is now returning to his "old happy and charming Brad." After a year and a half following his split from Angelina, who was reportedly jealous over his dating rumor with Neri, he's now bouncing back.
"Separating was very sad and shocking to him, but he started taking care of himself again," an insider tells PEOPLE. "He seems much, much happier."
As for getting back to dating game, the insider explains, "It took him a long time to date, but he is now. There hasn't been any talk about a special someone, though."
Previous report stated that Brad and Neri are "just friends" and there is no romance between them yet. However, the possibility of them taking their relationship to the next level is always open. He is allegedly "very interested in spending more time" with the American-Israeli architect, adding that "she is fascinating."
