The 'Life' star finds a question about Batman casting rumors difficult to answer, before finally saying that 'the answer to that question is 'no.' '

AceShowbiz - People who believe that Jake Gyllenhaal may be the next Batman should be ready for some bad news. China News Asia asks Jake whether or not he will play the titular character in "The Batman", but much to everyone's disappointment, he confirms that he will not take on the role.

Answering the question, Jake says, "Wow, that's a very difficult question. The answer to that question is 'no.' " With that being said, people should start thinking of another actor with high possibility of portraying the main role for the next Batman movie.

Last November, it was reported that Jake wanted to take on the role after it was said that Ben Affleck did not want to reprise his role as Batman. The news came after movie pundit John Campea started the rumors that Jake was Matt Reeves' top pick to replace Ben in "The Batman".

Last year, Matt shared about his excitement of working on his Batman movie. At that time, he revealed in MTV's Happy Sad Confused podcast, "It's a new story. It's just starting again. I'm excited about it. I think it's going to be really cool." Despite rumors saying that the movie would be set outside the DCEU, Matt recently assured that the upcoming movie would be a part of the universe that includes Superman, Wonder Woman and the rest of the Justice League.

While fans will not see Jake donning the black cape as the popular DC supehero, he will next be seen on wide screen in Jacques Audiard's "The Sisters Brothers" that will be released sometime this year. He will play prospector Hermann Kermit Warm. The movie will follow Eli and Charlie Sisters, two hitmen brothers, pursuing a gold prospector. He also stars in "Velvet Buzzsaw" which is due out on October 26 in the United States.
