Instead of hyping up fans, the set photos of the upcoming DC series are driving fans crazy over its alleged bad portrayal of the fan-favorite characters.

AceShowbiz - The first look at the upcoming live-action "Titans" has found its way out online. The set photos preview some of the characters featured on the DC series, which is currently filming in Toronto, Canada. Instead of hyping up fans, the set photos are driving fans crazy over its alleged bad portrayal of the fan-favorite characters.

Going viral on internet is a photo of Anna Diop in full Starfire costume. The "24: Legacy" star can be seen rocking a curly red wig and a purple dress. She completes her look with a pair of suede knee-length boots and a fury coat. Fans quickly take to social media to express their dismay over the TV show's take on the character.

"Expectation vs. reality. #Titans," a fan simply tweets alongside a side-by-side photo comparison of Starfire on the comics and Anna's Starfire. Another fan, meanwhile, takes a jab at "Titans" by comparing it to ABC's "Marvel's Inhumans", which was also criticized for its lackluster portrayals of the Inhumans.

Another fan comes with a sarcastic remark. "Oh man, #Titans nailed Starfire. Looks identical." One other opts for a more straightforward comment, writing, "She looks like trash, this is worse than suicide squad levels of costume design."

Anna's Starfire is not the only one who is slammed by fans as Ryan Potter's Beast Boy and Teagan Croft's Raven find themselves being mocked by fans. Ryan's Beast Boy is seen donning the signature green hair of Garfield "Gar" Logan. He sports a red-and-white top underneath a gray jacket. Walking beside him is blue-haired Teagen. Underneath her color-coordinating padding jacket, she can be seen donning a black top and a black choker.

"Y'all joking right?! Is this Teen Titans or Descendants 3 over here?" a confused fan says. Another one writes, "why does #Titans Beast Boy look like a can of Coke with broccoli hair. Why does Raven look worse than any Raven cosplay I've seen. WHY DO THEY ALL LIKE DRUG ADDICTS."

"I need to know to know who's responsible for making my Teen #Titans look like extras on Degrassi. I need names. Addresses," an enraged fan demands.

This development definitely comes as surprise since the show gained praise after releasing the first-look photos of Brenton Thwaites's Dick Grayson a.k.a. Robin, Alan Ritchson's Hawk and Minka Kelly's Dove. "How are these all from the same show? Please tell me there are so incredible CGI effects coming….#Titans," a fan asks in disbelief.

Not all fans are salty, though. A fan notes that the set photos may not show the final look of the characters. "This is not an official still for the series, it may not reveal her final look and costume. I hope it doesn’t reveal her final look. Please don't let this be her final look," the fan says of Anna's Starfire.

"Titans" will follow young soon-to-be superheroes that come from every corner of the DC Universe who are led by Grayson. On this action-packed series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes.

Akiva Goldsman and Geoff Johns serve as executive producers alongside Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter. Johns, Berlanti and Goldman also pen the script for the live-action series.

"Titans" live-action TV series is slated to debut later this year on DC's upcoming streaming service.
