The 'Shameless' star says that she 'will work on finding other ways to cope with boredom, find hobbies and better learn how to deal with stress,' adding that her parents and friends are supportive.

AceShowbiz - "Roseanne" actress Emma Kenney reveals that she has problems that need to be treated. In an interview with In Touch, she opens up about her story that leads her to seek treatment for her bad behavior.

In the interview, she says, "I'm going to be seeking treatment for my battles." Without mentioning what kind of treatment she will receive, she continues, "I'm going to work through it. I'm going to get help and make better choices."

The 18-year-old actress further details the reason underlying her decision to seek help, saying, "I was running with a really fast crowd. I was being naive and very immature, and I was doing things I should not be doing because it was illegal and I'm not 21." She adds, "It wasn't healthy, and it was making me feel even worse-anxious and depressed. It was just a slippery slope that I did not want to go down. And I knew that I needed to stop it."

She reveals that she used to take a wrong way to destress after being involved in fast-paced Hollywood life. The wrong decision then affected her private life. She admits, "I just didn't know how to deal with stress, so I would have an occasional wild night. I would go out to clubs and bars with older friends in Hollywood."

After finally coming to the decision, she promises to find ways to balance Hollywood and her personal life, saying, "Now, in treatment, I will work on finding other ways to cope with boredom, find hobbies and better learn how to deal with stress." She also states that her parents, closest friends and "Roseanne" co-stars have been supportive of her decision. "I just think I need a mental sanity break and a break from the Hollywood scene," she adds.

Emma also says that sharing her story is a way to encourage others to seek help they need. She shares, "I just want to send a message to my fans saying that it's OK to admit that you need help, and it doesn't make you weak. I know I'm making the right choice by going to treatment, and I'm going to come out the other side the right Emma, the true Emma that I've always been."

Emma has been on screen since she was 10 years old. She played a daughter in 2008's "Lyre Liar" and portrayed Emma in "Bittersweet" the same year. She will be seen in the next season of "Shameless" that will start filming in May, reprising her role as Debbie Gallagher. She is currently starring in season 10 of "Roseanne", playing Darlene's eldest child Harris Conner Healy.
