AceShowbiz - Congratulations are in order for Kate Hudson and her boyfriend Danny Fujikawa. The actress surprised fans on Friday, April 6 by announcing on Instagram that she and the musician are expecting their first child together, a baby girl.
The announcement was accompanied with a video of the couple popping huge balloons to reveal showers of pink confetti. "SURPRISE!!! If you've wondered why I've been so absent on my social channel it's because I have never been more sick!" she said. "It was the most sick first trimester of all my children."
After explaining that she was tired of seeing things on social media during her first trimester, she revealed that she had "broken through on the other end of that and rediscovering the joys of Insta/snap."
"We have been trying to keep this pregnancy under the radar for as long as possible but I'm a poppin now!" she added. "And it's too darn challenging to hide, and frankly hiding is more exhausting then just coming out with it! My kids, Danny, myself and the entire family are crazy excited! A little girl is on the way."
While the unborn baby girl will be her first child with Danny, she shares Bingham Hawn, 6, with ex-fiance Matthew Bellamy and Ryder Russell, 14, with ex-husband Chris Robinson.
A source tells Us Weekly that Kate couldn't be happier as she "wanted a girl more than anything." The source adds, "She has a special bond with her niece, Rio, and wanted to experience having a daughter of her own." Rio is the daughter of Kate's brother, Oliver Hudson, and his wife Erinn Barlett.
"Once she met Danny she just knew that she wanted a baby with him and hoped and prayed that it would happen. For it to be a girl is just the icing on the cake," the source continues. "Danny is so good with kids and has been great with her boys."
Kate and Danny started dating in December 2016 after being friends for 15 years. They made their red carpet debut in May 2017 while attending the premiere of "Snatched" in Westwood, California.
