AceShowbiz - %cTom Brady% has undergone a transformation for a good cause. The New England Patriots quarterback has got a buzz cut when he attended "Saving by Shaving" annual event. It was held to benefit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, one of the country's premier cancer-treatment facilities.
Brady took to Instagram on March 8 to share his new look. "They call me Buzzy... Tom Buzzy," he wrote along a Boomerang of him showing off his new haircut. "What a fun #SavingByShaving event today. It was an honor to join the fun and support @DanaFarber and all the great work they do! Thanks for the invite @coachhale5 (Rob Hale) and thank you @piniandco for the haircut!"
His new haircut, obviously, garnered a lot of positive comments from fans, as they praised Brady for shaving his head to help raise money for a charity. "You are absolutely amazing, with a heart of gold," one fan wrote. Another gushed, "Your kindness is such a great part of your life. I have been your best fan ever." One other simply commented, "You always do good for others."
During the event, Brady sat next to Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, whose head was shaved for the fourth time. Red Sox President Kennedy also participated in the event, which took place in Boston. According to TMZ, the fundraiser brought in $7.5 million.
It came as no surprise that Brady decided to shave his head for the charity, as his mom Galynn was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer in June 2016. Back in October, Galynn spoke about her son's support for her while she endured chemotherapy treatment.
"We'd FaceTime a lot," she said in an interview. "Losing my hair was hard for me, and I think because, hair to women is who you are, and I'd have my bandanna on and he'd say, 'Mom, you look beautiful, you look so beautiful.' "
