The two actors will be joined by Aria Shahghasemi, Quincy Fouse, Jenny Boyd and Kaylee Bryant, three of which are set to play new characters.

AceShowbiz - It looks like a spin-off of "The Originals" will really be coming to the small screen. While The CW has yet to officially confirm the potential new series, several stars are confirmed to star on the spin-off, which is set to focus on Hope Mikaelson, should it move forward on the network.

"The Vampire Diaries" star Matthew Davis is attached to the potential series, reprising his role as Alaric Saltzman. In addition, Danielle Rose Russell, who is cast as a teenage version of Hope in the fifth and final season of "The Originals", will star alongside Matthew.

The two will be joined by Aria Shahghasemi, Quincy Fouse ("The Goldbergs"), Jenny Boyd and Kaylee Bryant ("Santa Clarita Diet"). Aria is set to play a friend of Hope both in the upcoming season 5 of "The Originals" and the potential spin-off. Meanwhile, Quincy, Jenny and Kaylee will be playing new characters.

Rumor has it, the spin-off won't be getting a back-door pilot treatment like "The Originals", which pilot episode aired as an episode on "The Vampire Diaries". It is said that the new series will get a short video presentation, which reportedly will consist of scenes in the final 13-episode season of "The Originals". The potential series will also be ordered straight to series should the network pick it up.

The CW President Mark Pedowitz previously shared that the spin-off is currently in the works. "['The Originals' showrunner] Julie [Plec] and I and the studio have had many a discussion. Nothing has come out of it yet, but…I'm hopeful," Mark said back in August, adding, "There's been many conversations about the character of Hope."

While details of the potential spin-off remain to be seen, "The Originals" will return for its fifth and final season on Friday, April 20 on The CW.
