Ensa, Bill's third daughter with his wife Camille Olivia Hanks, had kidney issues and reportedly was in line for a transplant.

AceShowbiz - Bill Cosby and family are mourning the death of his daughter Ensa. The third child of the comedian and his wife Camille Olivia Hanks died on Friday night, February 23 in Massachusetts due to renal disease. She was 44.

Confirming the sad news, Cosby's spokesperson Andrew Wyatt says in a statement, "The Cosby Family thanks many people for their prayers for their beloved and beautiful Ensa, who recently died from renal disease."

Renal disease is damage to or disease of a kidney. TMZ reports that Ensa had significant medical issues in the past. She had kidney issues and possibly was in line for a transplant.

Ensa was a steadfast supporter of her father amid the many sexual assault accusations against Bill. Ensa, who starred in a 1989 episode of her father's successful TV show "The Cosby Show", said that though she had chosen to live her life out of the spotlight, "for my child, my niece, my nephew, and my father, I cannot sit quietly anymore."

She said in a statement ahead of one of his court appearances in May last year, "The accusations against my father have been one-sided from the beginning. When he tried to defend himself, he was sued in civil court. I've seen the accusations become more horrific and extreme with time, and I've witnessed my father's reputation and legendary works be dismissed without any proof."

"I strongly believe my father is innocent of the crimes alleged against him and I believe that racism has played a big role in all aspects of this scandal," she added. "My father has been publicly lynched in the media and my family, my young daughter, my young niece and nephew have had to stand helplessly by and watch the double standard or pretending to protect the rights of some but ignoring the rights of others and exposing innocent children to such appalling accusations about someone they love dearly and who has been so loving and kind to them is beyond cruel."

Bill and his wife Camille are also parents to Erika, 52, Erinn, 51, and Evin, 41. Their only son, Ennis, was murdered at the age of 27 in a failed robbery attempt in Los Angeles in 1997.
