Fern is the latest addition to season 6 of the Emmy-nominated drama as Diane Lane and Grey Kinnear were previously tapped to play siblings in the final season of the Netflix series.

AceShowbiz - "The Asssassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story" actor Cody Fern is heading to "House of Cards". The Australian star has been tapped to join the sixth and final season of the Netflix political drama in a series regular role.

Fern's role is currently undisclosed. In the final season of "House of Cards", he will join Robin Wright, who is set to take over the leading role in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations against Kevin Spacey.

Fern is the latest addition to season 6 of the Emmy-nominated drama. Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear were also tapped to play major roles in the upcoming season of "House of Cards" which is said to be having eight episodes. It remains to be seen, however, what characters the "Man of Steel" actress and "The Last Song" actor will be playing except the fact they will play siblings.

Fern recently appeared on Edgar Ramirez and Penelope Cruz-starring "The Asssassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story". In the latest installment of FX's anthology series, he portrayed a character named David, the young gay man who marks the beginning of Andrew Cunanan's (Darren Criss) killing spree. In addition, he starred in "The Tribes of Palos Verdes" opposite Jennifer Garner and Maika Monroe.

Created by Beau Willimon, "House of Cards" announced earlier this month that it finally resumed its production, which was halted after Spacey was accused of sexual misconduct and racism on the set of "House of Cards". "Star Trek: Discovery" actor Anthony Rapp first accused the Frank Underwood depicter of making sexual advance on him when he was 14 years old. It was later followed by eight anonymous former and current employees of "House of Cards" who came forward with similar accusations against the Oscar-winning actor.
