Alongside Fuller, who exits the series due to creative differences, Hart Hanson has stepped down as showrunner from the project.

AceShowbiz - Bryan Fuller has exited another series. Fuller has parted ways with Apple's "Amazing Stories", of which he was previously onboard as showrunner. Fuller cites creative differences as the reason why he exits the reboot of the 1980s show.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Fuller envisioned the reboot to be like "Black Mirror". However, the iPhone maker seemingly wants the new project, which was picked up into a series, to be more family-friendly. It serves as a major contrast as Fuller's "American Gods" and "Hannibal" are both loaded with violent and adult sexual content.
Fuller was first attached to "Amazing Stories" in October 2015, when the show was set on NBC. He was tapped to pen the script. After the show moved to Apple in 2017, he also executive produced the 10-part series with original series creator Steven Spielberg.
In addition, Hart Hanson has stepped down as showrunner from the project. Apple and producers are reportedly now searching for their replacements.
"Amazing Stories" is the third recent exit for Fuller. The "Hannibal" boss previously stepped down as showrunner from CBS All Access' "Star Trek: Discovery" even before production began.
Furthermore, Fuller and Michael Green exited Starz's "American Gods" ahead of season 2. His departure from the fantasy, trippy series followed a budget dispute with Freemantle, which produces "American Gods", as it wanted to reduce the series' per-episode fee. Taking over Fuller and Green's showrunning duties for season 2 are Jesse Alexander and Neil Gaiman.
Fuller is now working on a series based on Anne Rice's best-selling novels "The Vampire Chronicles". Meanwhile, Apple is developing Steven Knight's futuristic drama "See", a drama about a network morning show starring Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, and a space series hailing from "Battlestar Galactica" creator Ron Moore.
