Artist of the Week: Drake
Music

Shorty after releasing two surprise tracks, Drake has set some new records including joining The Beatles as the only acts to have earned at least 20 top 10s on the Hot 100 in a single decade.

AceShowbiz - As one of the biggest acts in the hip-hop industry, it is no surprise that Drake's music has always been anticipated by many people. Thus, when he suddenly released two surprise tracks entitled "God's Plan" and "Diplomatic Immunity", he quickly set new records.

While "God's Plan" debuted atop Billboard Hot 100 chart, "Diplomatic Immunity" launched at No. 7 even though the rapper didn't promote the songs that much when he debuted them. These achievements has helped him surpass Lil Wayne and Jay-Z as the rapper to have the most number of top 10s on the Hot 100.

Additionally, Drake made history on Billboard's On-Demand Streaming Songs chart as "God's Plan" opened with 68 million on-demand U.S. audio streams, according to Nielsen Music. It defeated the single-week record previously set by Kendrick Lamar's "HUMBLE.".

His achievement didn't stop there, obviously. The two tracks helped him join The Beatles as the only acts to have earned at least 20 top 10s on the Hot 100 in a single decade. Drake first made his appearance on Hot 100's top 10 with his hit song off "Thank Me Later", "Find Your Love", in 2010. He made his way to the No. 1 spot with "One Dance" in 2016, which maintained its position on the chart for 10 weeks.

With new records under his belt, Drake is back in the studio, working on a new album which will be the continuation of "More Life". He is currently working with contributors like Bad Bunny, Pierre Bourne and London On Da Track. The rapper has teased his collaboration with Bunny on social media, sharing a snippet of the new song. It's still unclear, though, when he will release the track.

Drake also recently lent his voice for Migos' "Walk It Talk It", one of the songs of the rap group's sophomore album "Culture II". He also collaborated with Lil Wayne for the latter's "Dedication 6: Reloaded".
