AceShowbiz - The first sneak peek of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's upcoming thriller "Skyscraper" has arrived in the form of a teaser, which was debuted during the Super Bowl LII broadcast on Sunday, February 4. The TV spot finds the wrestler-turned-actor's character on a mission to save his family in the world's tallest building.

In the film, Johnson plays Will Ford, a hardworking father and a former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader who now advises security for skyscrapers. The ad shows that when Ford is on assignment in China, his family is "trapped 240 floors in the air" and he's determined to save them.

The said building gets set ablaze not long after, leaving Ford framed for the crime and trying to get his family out alive. To make it worse, as noted by someone in voiceover, "this isn't gonna end the way you wanted to." One scene shows Ford running for his life from his enemies. The video ends with him jumping off the building before struggling to survive as he dangles from a cord thousands of feet above the ground.

"Skyscraper" is directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, the filmmaker behind "We're the Millers", from a script he wrote. In addition to writing and directing, Thurber, alongside its star Johnson, serves as producer with Beau Flynn. The action thriller is scheduled to be released in theaters across the nation on July 13 this year by Universal Pictures.

The synopsis of the film reads, "Global icon Johnson leads the cast of Legendary's 'Skyscraper' as former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Ford, who now assesses security for skyscrapers. On assignment in China he finds the tallest, safest building in the world suddenly ablaze, and he's been framed for it. A wanted man on the run, Will must find those responsible, clear his name and somehow rescue his family who is trapped inside the building...above the fire line."

In the upcoming movie, starring alongside Johnson are Neve Campbell, Pablo Schreiber, Chin Han, Byron Mann, Hannah Quinlivan, Noah Taylor and Roland Moller among others. Additionally, UFC veteran-turned-actor/stuntman Jason William Day has joined the cast in a villainous role.
