AceShowbiz - Kate Middleton has always been known for her classy, simple fashion. However, the Duchess of Cambridge appeared to be stunning everyone when she joined husband Prince William attending a black tie dinner at the British Ambassador's residence in Stockholm, Sweden on Tuesday, January 30.

For the occasion, Kate opted for an eye-catching look in a golden green floral-patterned dress by Erdem, a Canadian designer who also once created a dress for Meghan Markle. With its high neck, cell sleeves and tiered skirt, the gown was definitely Kate's most daring choice to date.

Before the dinner, the Duke and Duchess had a short meeting with the Prime Minister of Sweden Stefan Lofven and his wife Ulla Lofven. William told them about their bandy hockey game earlier in the day, saying that he was proud to have scored a goal. Kate then playfully responded, "I let him win."

After that, Kate, who is six months pregnant with her third child, was escorted into the formal dining room by the British Ambassador David Cairns. William, on the other hand, was accompanied by the ambassador's wife Sharon Cairns.

Kate and William, along with the other guests, dined on Scottish smoked salmon with quail egg, horseradish cream on a bed of salad and guinea fowl with stir-fried vegetables and mashed potatoes. For the dessert, they enjoyed blackberry souffle with chocolate ganache before picking their favorite British cheeses. They were also offered a selection of high-class wines.

Earlier that day, Kate and William kicked off their four-day trip to Sweden by watching and playing a bandy hockey game. Even though Kate lost to her husband, the crowd were impressed by the Duchess' skill. "She knew how to hold the stick and she had a very good swing. I was impressed," said a spectator.

The Duke and Duchess then joined the Swedish royals for lunch, followed by a walk around Stockholm. They finished off their afternoon by visiting the Nobel Museum and attending an event celebrating Swedish design.
