The 'Miss Independent' hitmaker takes to Instagram to announce that he and wife Crystal Smith are expecting a baby boy.

AceShowbiz - Ne-Yo is expecting his second child with wife Crystal Smith, and he has now revealed the gender of the unborn baby. The "Miss Independent" hitmaker took to Instagram on Wednesday, January 24 to announce that he's having another boy with "The Platinum Life" star.
"HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE IT'S A BOY!!" he said on the photo-sharing platform, adding that they were actually hoping for a baby girl. "My Queen, I know you had your heart set on a girl. To be honest I did too. But clearly you were born to give the world kings! And I'm more than happy with that. Love you baby. You shine.."
It appeared that Ne-Yo and Crystal were not the only ones who expected a baby girl. Crystal said on her Instagram account that their only daughter, Maddie, was upset to know that she's gonna have another brother. "Maddie was upset," she said. "She says we have to give her a sister next cause she doesn't want to be the only girl anymore!!"
According to PEOPLE, the couple revealed the sex of their baby during a gender reveal party on Saturday, January 20 in Los Angeles. During the royal-themed party, the guest congregated on the rooftop to shoot off powder guns to reveal a blue hue, meaning that the couple would have a baby boy. The first 100 guests at the party were also asked to make a donation to Jenesse Center, a domestic violence program based in Los Angeles.
The couple, who got married in 2016, revealed that they were expecting their second baby back in October last year. Crystal told E! News that she was able to avoid morning sickness during her first trimester. "Actually I haven't really been sick at all but the cravings are real!" she told the news outlet at the time.
