The winners of the 2018 GLAAD Media Awards will be announced in two ceremonies, on April 12 in Los Angeles and on May 5 in New York.

AceShowbiz - The 29th GLAAD Media Awards has revealed its full nomination list. The annual award-giving event is an accolade bestowed by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation to recognize and honor various branches of the media for their outstanding representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community, and is set to be held this April and May.
In the TV department, "Billions" (Showtime) is put against "Doubt" (CBS), "The Handmaid's Tale" (Hulu), "Nashville" (CMT), "Sense8" (Netflix), "Shadowhunters" (Freeform), "Star" (FOX), "Star Trek: Discovery" (CBS All Acces), "This Is Us" (NBC) and "Wynonna Earp" (Syfy) in the category of Outstanding Drama Series. Meanwhile, "The Bold Type" (Freeform), "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (FOX), "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" (The CW) and "Modern Family" (ABC) are among the series vying for the award of Outstanding Comedy Series.
As for the category of Outstanding Individual Episode (in a series without a regular LGBTQ character), "Chapter 8" of "Legion" is competing against "Grace" of "Pure Genius", "Lady Cha Cha" of "Easy", "The Missionaries" of "Room 104" and "Thanksgiving" of "Master of None". "American Horror Story: Cult" is nominated for the category of Outstanding TV Movie or Limited Series alongside "Feud: Bette and Joan", "Godless", "Queers" and "When We Rise".
Film nominees, meanwhile, include "Battle of the Sexes" and "Lady Bird" which compete against each other in the category of Outstanding Film - Wide Release. Also being nominated for the category are "Call Me by Your Name", "Professor Marston & the Wonder Women" and "The Shape of Water". "BPM (Beats per Minute)" and "A Fantastic Woman" is among the nominees for Outstanding Film - Limited Release alongside "God's Own Country", "Thelma" and "The Wound".
GLAAD also nominates work in music department. Miley Cyrus is one of the nominees for the award of Outstanding Music Artist for her album "Younger Now". Joining the "Malibu" singer in the category are Halsey for "Hopeless Fountain Kingdom", Honey Dijon for "The Best of Both Worlds", Kehlani for "SweetSexySavage" and Kelela for "Take Me Apart" among others.
