The Rick Flag depicter has just shared an Instagram photo featuring him and two of his 'Suicide Squad' co-stars, Jay Hernandez and Jai Courtney, training together.

AceShowbiz - It looks like some of the "Suicide Squad" main cast members have already begun training as they are preparing for filming on the sequel. Rick Flag portrayer Joel Kinnaman has taken to his Instagram account to share a photo featuring him and some of his co-stars in the 2016 antihero flick working out together.

"Brendan whipping us back into shape. Jay puked. #garagegym," so Kinnaman captioned the Thursday, January 18 snap, which showed him posing together with Jai Courtney and Jay Hernandez, who played Boomerang and El Diablo, respectively.

It's unclear if the trio were indeed training together to prepare for "Suicide Squad 2" filming. But judging from the workout snap, it seems like Hernandez's fire-controlling metahuman character Diablo, who was presumed dead after sacrificing himself to save the rest of Task Force X toward the end of the first movie, will somehow be resurrected in some capacity for the upcoming sequel.

"Suicide Squad 2" will be directed by Gavin O'Connor, the filmmaker behind Ben Affleck-starring crime drama "The Accountant" (2016) and Oscar-nominated sports drama "Warrior" (2011). Filming is expected to commence later this year. David Ayer, who helmed the first film, won't be involved in the sequel and is instead on board to helm one of "Suicide Squad" spin-off films, "Gotham City Sirens".

Will Smith has been confirmed to return as Deadshot. Jared Leto and Margot Robbie are also expected to reprise their roles as the infamous crazed couple The Joker and Harley Quinn, while Karen Fukuhara is set to return as Katana. Rumor has it, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will make his big-screen debut as Black Adam, the main nemesis to Shazam!.

In the upcoming sequel, following their fight against the seemingly unstoppable Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), the team is sent towards another mission. Co-written by O'Connor and Anthony Tambakis, the film hasn't set a release date, but it is expected to open in theaters across the nation sometime next year.
