Stars Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt are reportedly attached to the revival, which is said to center on Paul and Jamie who grapple with empty-nest syndrome.

AceShowbiz - "Mad About You" reportedly will be returning to the small screen. A revival for the Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt-starring NBC sitcom is said to be in the works, hailing from Sony Pictures Television Studios.

Multiple sources claim to TVLine that Sony has been in informal talks with Paul and Helen about reviving the show, which ran for seven seasons from 1992 to 1997 on NBC. The plan is reportedly to bring back the reboot for a limited run.

The site further states that Paul, who also co-created "Mad About You" with Danny Jacobson, is leading the charge to revive the series.

An insider reveals that the new season most likely will follow on Paul Buchman (Paul) and Jamie (Helen) who grapple with empty-nest syndrome after daughter Mabel, now 17 years old, goes to college.

Paul previously hinted at the possible "Mad About You" revival. "If we can find the story to tell, and anybody's interested, I'd be open to it," the 60-year-old actor said at the "Stranger Things" season 2 premiere in Westwood, California. "You got an idea? Yeah. Come up with some ideas."

"To me, it's interesting when I see my kids are growing and leaving the house. It's like, 'Oh.' It's like that moment when you get married. It's like we're in a new world that we don't know the rules of," he continued.

Debuting on September 23, 1992, "Mad About You" followed newlyweds Paul and Jamie as they lived their daily lives and eventually welcomed a daughter, Mabel. Also starring Anne Ramsay, Leila Kenzle, John Pankow and Richard Kind, the series won Golden Globe Award, Peabody Award and Genesis Award, as well as nabbed five Emmy Award nominations. Helen earned an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in Comedy Series four years in a row, starting in 1996.
