AceShowbiz - Matt Lauer's wife Annette Roque was reportedly visiting a law office in New York. It further fuels the divorce rumors which are spiralling around the couple following sexual harassment allegations against former "Today" co-host Lauer.
Looking stern, Roque was spotted at law firm Latham & Watkins in Manhattan, New York City on Wednesday, December 20. The 50-year-old former Dutch model, who wore an olive turtle neck, a fur sleeveless coat and white pants, looked somber as he carried a clutch in one of her hands.
According to Page Six, Roque "has been meeting with lawyers about squeezing a bigger settlement out of him if they proceed to a divorce."
This comes after the pair reportedly removed their wedding rings earlier this month. Lauer and Roque were spotted in Sag Harbor, New York near their properties without the rings, though the 59-year-old TV personality was still seen wearing the ring two days before.
In addition, Roque's father, Henry, revealed that things between the spouses, who share three kids together, turned ugly after the scandal, which led to him being fired from the NBC show. "I have no words for her husband. What he has done is bad. Everybody feels betrayed," Henry said. "She is not going to stay with him and work it out. They are not together trying to work it out."
Should Annette be gearing up a divorce, it won't be the first time for her to file for divorce from Lauer. She filed for divorce from the disgraced TV host back in 2006, citing "mental abuse, extreme mental and emotional distress, humiliation, torment, and anxiety." However, she withdrew the filling only weeks later. Rumor has it, Lauer offered her a whooping $5 million to stay in the marriage.
Lauer was fired from "Today" after a female employee met with NBC News' human resource last week. She allegedly accused Lauer of inviting her to his hotel room late at night while covering the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia in 2014.
