Rumors of the couple's engagement sparked after the "Spring Breakers" actress shared on social media several suspicious pictures of her wearing a unique-looking ring. Fans noticed that Vanessa has been sporting the ring since around her birthday, which is December 14.
One of the pictures found Vanessa teaming up her black fur coat with an auburn blouse while showing off her new haircut. The ring in question could also be seen in the picture and it looked more vintage than a common engagement ring. She captioned the picture, "And then this happened."
Another picture saw Vanessa cutely sporting a duck face as she looked straight at the camera. Just like the previous picture, the supposed engagement ring could be clearly seen. "Oh snap. She got them nails back," so she wrote in the caption.
Vanessa and Austin started dating back in September 2011 and have been inseparable ever since. When asked about the secret of their long-term relationship, the former Disney darling told PEOPLE, "Just communication, communication is key. I think if anything's bother you, don't hold it in. Always bring it up and just talk about it. Uncensor yourself and just be open." She added that they would visit each other when they were away for projects.
Austin, who is known for his role as James Garrett on "Zoey 101", also previously spoke about how he and Vanessa kept their six-year relationship strong. "I think you just have to it's important to put that other person first," he told Entertainment Tonight.
"If you're constantly looking for ways that you can make them happy," he continued. "And they're constantly looking for ways that they can make you happy, then you kind of lift each other up as much as possible and you can't go wrong."
