The updated version of the music video features footage of the late legend's original music video as well as footage of Cirque du Soleil performing the track.

AceShowbiz - Michael Jackson's classic music video for "Blood on the Dance Floor" has been revamped. The new version of the music video features footage from the late legend's original music video, which was released in 1997, and footage of Cirque du Soleil, the cast of "Michael Jackson ONE", performing the track.

According to a rep for Michael Jackson's estate, the decision to create a new version of the music video was made after people from the estate watched the cast deliver a one-time-only performance of "Blood on the Dance Floor" during their annual celebration of Michael's birthday. The rep further stated that the estate was inspired by their performance.

"Blood on the Dance Floor" is one of the tracks off the King of Pop's 1997 remix album "Blood on the Dancefloor: HIStory in the Mix". The track recently received a new remix for the singer's Halloween-themed compilation album "Scream", which was released through Epic Recordings on September 29.

Talking about the compilation album, a rep for Epic Recordings said in a statement that the choice of the tracks "reflects the King of Pop's affection for this time of the year and its themes of costumes and disguise, darkness and light, character transformations and surprise."

The effort, which peaked at No. 33 on Billboard 200 chart, was not the only project that the Michael Jackson estate unveiled this year. The estate debuted a 3-D music video for another classic "Thriller" during the 2017 Venice International Film Festival, which took place from August 30 until September 9 in Venice, Italy.

"We took full advantage of the remarkable advances in technology to add new dimensions to both the visual and the audio bringing it to a whole new level," director John Landis shared in a statement. "Even though 'Thriller' was shot traditionally, I was able to use the 3-D creatively. Let me just warn you, there is a rather shocking surprise in there."
