Series creator Sam Esmail takes to his Instagram account to share the news, hinting that the upcoming new season of the Golden Globes-winning series is already in the writer's room. "Calm down everyone. #MrRobot season_4.0 writers' room is officially open for business," so he writes in the caption.

Debuting in June 2015, "Mr. Robot" follows Elliot Alderson, a cybersecurity engineer and hacker who suffers from social anxiety disorder and clinical depression. He became involved in the underground hacked group fsociety after an insurrectionary anarchist known as "Mr. Robot" recruited him. The group aims to destroy all debt records by encrypting the financial data of the largest conglomerate in the world, E Corp.

Current season 3 sees hacker Elliot Alderson (Rami) keeping a greater distance between himself and the voice of his father, Mr. Robot (Christian Slater), in his head. Season 3 welcomes additional cast members, one of whom is Bobby Cannavale who plays a used car salesman/frontman for China's Dark Army. Also starring on the series are Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin, Martin Wallstrom, Grace Gummer, Michael Cristofer and B.D. Wong.

The techno-thriller earned Rami an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 2016. Meanwhile, Christian scored his third consecutive Golden Globe nomination for best supporting actor after winning the category in 2016, when "Mr. Robot" was announced as the Best Television Series (Drama) at the award show.

Steve Golin executive produces the series alongside Chad Hamilton. Kyle Bradstreewt and Joseph E. Iberti, meanwhile, are co-executive producing.

Season 3 finale of "Mr. Robot" airs on Wednesday, December 13 at 10 P.M. on USA Network.
