AceShowbiz - Fans may not be able to watch Kang Daniel on television for a while. It has been confirmed that the center of Wanna One will be taking a break from schedules after he was rushed to hospital due to illness.
Multiple sources stated that Daniel caught a bad cold a day before filming a program. He tried to continue the filming, but had to stop because he was in so much pain. He went to a hospital on December 5 to get a shot, but his condition didn't improve at all. It was reported that he is suffering from high fever, has lost his voice and does not have strength to walk.
A representative for Daniel's label, YMC Entertainment, confirmed the news. "We will be making sure that Kang Daniel gets as much rest as possible so that he has a full recover before any upcoming performances," the company's rep stated. "He has received the necessary medical treatment and is currently resting in the dorm. Luckily, he has no scheduled broadcast appearances in the immediate future."
The rep then continued saying that the company had not made a final decision regarding a fan meeting event as Daniel said that he wanted to meet his fans. "Because this will be an event where the members meet face-to-face with fans, Kang Daniel has a strong desire to at least be at the venue and greet his fans," the rep added. "However, his health comes first so we will be monitoring his condition before making a decision."
Following the news, it is unknown whether or not Daniel will be able to join the rest of the group at the upcoming SBS Gayo Daejun and MBC Gayo Daejun. While SBS Gayo Daejun will be held on December 25 at Gocheok Sky Dome, SBS Gayo Daejun will take place at MBC Dream Center on December 31.
