Sammi Giancola Not Returning for 'Jersey Shore' Revival Because of Ronnie Ortiz-Magro

Words are Sammi, who is better known as Sweetheart, decides not to return for 'Jersey Shore Family Vacation' because she doesn't want to be around her ex Ronnie.

AceShowbiz - Sammi Giancola's name was missing from the announcement about "Jersey Shore" revival on MTV. While the network didn't offer an explanation, the reason behind her absence from "Jersey Shore Family Vacation" has allegedly been revealed now.

According to a source, Sammi, who is better known as Sweetheart, turned down the offer because she didn't want to be around Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, with whom she had an-again/off-again relationship during the filming of the original series. "Everyone was invited to come on the show but Sammi was the only one who didn't want to. A big reason for that was because she didn't want to be around Ronnie," the source tells Us Weekly, adding, "She has been enjoying her life off of TV and didn’t want to change that."

Sammi and Ronnie eventually called it quits for good in 2014. She is currently in a relationship with Christian Biscardi, while Ronnie briefly dated Malika Haqq earlier this year.

Ronnie himself has been confirmed to return for the new series along with other original cast members, including Deena Nicole Cortese, Paul "DJ Pauly D" Delvecchio, Jennifer JWoww Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Snooki a.k.a. Nicole Polizzi and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino. The new show is scheduled to air in 2018, with "Jersey Shore" creator/executive producer SallyAnn Salsano and her 495 Productions returning as executive producers. Other details of the new series are currently unknown.

Ronnie, however, was missing when the cast reunited to film a Burger King commercial earlier this year amid speculation about a new series. Deena told Us Weekly in July, "I honestly don't know if anyone has spoken to him about it. Right now we're in a group chat with me, Pauly, Vinny Mike, Nicole, Jenni and Sam. Ronnie's actually not in it right now, in the group chat, but we're all talking about it and we're all trying to figure out ways to make it happen."
