The Hollywood Foreign Press Association confirmed that the 'Late Night' host would be hosting the 75th Golden Globe Awards ceremony.

AceShowbiz - On January 7, 2018, the 75th Golden Globe Awards ceremony is going to be hosted by Seth Meyers. Previously, Meyers hosted Emmy Awards in 2014, ESPY Awards in 2010, as well as 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner, making this occasion the fourth time for him to host a prestigious event.

The news was announced on Thanksgiving via Golden Globe's website and Twitter. "The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is excited to have Seth Meyers host the 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards. With his natural comedic wit and innate ability to charm audiences, Seth will help us carry on the celebratory tradition of recognizing the best in television and film at the Party of the Year," said Meher Tatna, president of HFPA, on the website.

Meanwhile, the Twitter announcement showed a photo of smiling Meyers in his dark blue suit. The caption read, "Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Big news! The HFPA is proud to announce @sethmeyers will be hosting this year's #GoldenGlobes Jan 7th at 8PM ET/5PM PT only on @NBC! Thanks, Seth!"

Meyers has got the hosting opportunity after gaining critical acclaim for his political coverage on his show with "A Closer Look" segment which often tackles Trump administration. There is a good chance that the host will talk about politics or make fun of the president at the event. Meyers is known for his knack of comedy writing and prowess, having served 12 years as the writer of "Saturday Night Live". Undoubtedly, next year's Golden Globes will be a lot of fun to watch.

The "Late Night with Seth Meyers" host follows this year's Golden Globe MC, Jimmy Fallon. Their fellow "SNL" alumni Tina Fey and Amy Poehler co-hosted the event in 2013, 2014 and 2015, taking over from English comedian Ricky Gervais.

The Diamond Jubilee edition of Golden Globes airs on NBC on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 8 P.M. ET. The nominations will be announced on December 11, and the two-hour Golden Globe anniversary special airs on December 13, with "Will & Grace" stars Debra Messing and Eric McCormack hosting.
