The tennis ace oozes princessy vibe in a strapless, belted ball gown with a cape designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.

AceShowbiz - Serena Williams proved her high sense of fashion on her wedding day. The 36-year-old athlete looked stunning in a custom Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown when she walked down the aisle with Alexis Ohanian on Thursday, November 16.

The tennis ace oozed a princessy vibe in the strapless, belted ball gown with voluminous tulle skirt and a cape. She accessorized with jewelry by XIV Karats, worth $3.5 million in total. "I flew to London to meet with Sarah and ended up falling in love with the ball gown silhouette, which is completely the opposite of what I ever thought I would choose for myself," she tells Vogue of choosing her wedding gown.

"I loved the idea of doing a really spectacular ball gown, and it has turned out to be such an incredibly special piece," she gushes. Sarah Burton also designed Kate Middleton's gown on her wedding to Prince William.

The groom looked sharp in a velvet suit by Armani. Meanwhile, the bridesmaids wore custom Galia Lahav dresses. "She talked to all of us and just kind of let us have creative control as to what dress fit our personality. And then she approved it, of course!" Serena's best friend, Val Vogt, said about the designer.

The couple tied the knot at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans. "Alexis really wanted to do it here," Serena said about the venue. "It's his favorite city besides Brooklyn. It's got a heavy European influence, it's fun, and has amazing food. He just loves the vibe. The venue-the Contemporary Art Center of New Orleans-was a decision we both made. Painting and art is something I'm really passionate about, so it just felt natural and different to do it at a contemporary art museum."

In their handwritten vows, Alexis called Serena his queen. "I will always have bad jokes that make your eyes roll; make you give me the side eye," the Reddit co-founder told his wife. "You are the greatest of all time, not just in sport," he continued. "I'm talking about as a mother, and as a wife. I am so excited to write so many more chapters of our fairy tale together."

He added, "And my whole life I didn't even realize it, but I was waiting for this moment. And everything that I have done, everything that I am so proud of in my career, and in my life, for the last 34 years, pales in comparison to what we're doing today. And I am so grateful, and I am so in love."

For the reception, Serena changed into a white strapless Versace dress that featured lace and feathers throughout the bodice. New Edition and Tony Award winner Cynthia Erivo performed for the guests, which included stars like Beyonce Knowles, Jay-Z, Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, La La Vazquez and Meghan Markle.

Serena later appeared in a third dress, a little frock with a short skirt by Versace, to perform their first dance to a mashup of "Tale As Old As Time" and "If I Can't Have You". Following up the "Beauty and the Beast"-themed reception, Alexis surprised his bride with n illuminated white carousel during the lounge-like after-party. Everyone at the wedding got to take a ride, and Serena traded her high-heels for glittery sneakers.

"I've known Serena for so long and am so happy she's found her prince," Kim Kardashian told Vogue at the wedding. "From the moment she told me she met Alexis in Rome, it was like...she's been so happy and has this light about her that is so special to see. You just know it is so real. He makes her so happy and that just makes her friends happy."
