Rihanna to Host 2018 Met Gala With George Clooney's Wife Amal

RiRi, Amal Clooney and Donatella Versace will join Anna Wintour as co-hosts for the fundraiser held in the spring next year.

AceShowbiz - The hosts for next year's Met Gala are announced. R&B singer Rihanna, George Clooney's human-rights lawyer wife Amal, and fashion designer Donatella Versace are set to join Vogue's editor-in-chief Anna Wintour to oversee the annual star-studded event.

The fundraising gala will take place May 7, 2018 to benefit the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City. The theme is "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination" to create a dialogue between fashion and the masterworks of religious art in the museum's holdings.

Rihanna first attended Met Gala in 2007. The theme was "Poiret: King of Fashion" and she rocked a white Georges Chakra gown with silver embellishments. Mesh gloves and a red rose completed her look. Amal Clooney made her Met debut in 2015. She stunned in a deep-red Maison Margiela Artisanal gown by John Galliano. The theme was "China: Through the Looking Glass." Meanwhile, Donatella walked the Met red carpet for the very first time in 1995.

Last event was hosted by Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady. The theme was "Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art Of The In-Between." Katy wore red from head to toe in a dramatic Maison Margiela dress complete with a sheer veil, Pharrell was casual in a leather jacket and ripped jeans but his wife Helen Lasichanh managed to turn heads with her quirky red jumpsuit from the Comme des Garcons. Gisele glammed up in a slinky silver dress by Stella McCartney and husband Tom suited up in Tom Ford.

RiRi, after stealing the show in 2015 with her yolk-colored Guo Pei gown that inspired numerous internet memes, wowed the crowd again at this year's event with a layered floral ruffle dress from Rei Kawakubo's Comme des Garcons Fall collection. She finished off her look with a thigh-high lace-up heels.

In 2016, Taylor Swift was enlisted to to host event with Idris Elba. The theme was "Manus X Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology." Taylor rocked an egdy look in a silver mini dress with a black knee-high gladiator sandals. Her male co-host looked sharp in a Tom Ford tuxedo with a white bow tie.
