The 'Deadpool' actor wonders out loud on Twitter how Disney's rumored acquisition of Fox's assets will affect his superhero character Merc with a Mouth.

AceShowbiz - Ryan Reynolds has heard of Disney's potential acquisition of 21st Century Fox. The rumored buyout means that "X-Men" characters which include Deadpool might return to Marvel which is now under the Mouse House banner. "If this is true, I wonder how the fudge it would affect Deadpool?" the actor mused on Twitter.

According to reports, Fox was in negotiations with The Walt Disney Company to sell majority of its assets that included movie rights to Marvel Comics' "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four". People familiar with the situation told CNBC that the potential sellout would leave Fox focusing solely on news and sports.

Marvel Studios has long been interested in buying back "X-Men" and "The Fantastic Four" following the successful launch of "The Avengers". When Fox maintained tight grip on the two popular superhero groups, Marvel hit back by killing merchandises for the characters to avoid giving them any promotion.

Back in 2015, Marvel Executive Editor Tom Brevoort took it to Tumblr to address the lack of "X-Men" toys, "If you had two things, and on one you earned 100% of the revenues from the efforts that you put into making it, and the other you earned a much smaller percentage for the same amount of time and effort, you'd be more likely to concentrate more heavily on the first, wouldn't you?"

Marvel also banned its writers from creating any new "X-Men" characters so that Fox wouldn't have new mutants to add to its big screen assemble. Marvel additionally called off "The Fantastic Four" comic books in 2015 ahead of Fox's reboot. On top that, Marvel dissed the "F4" cast in an issue of "The Punisher" comic books.

Three Hollywood actors who resembled Miles Teller, Jamie Bell and Kate Mara were murdered in the graphic novel. They chatted and dropped names like Trang, Mike and Johnny that sounded a lot like the film's director Josh Trank and the new Johnny Storm depicter Michael B. Jordan before a bomb went off and ultimately killed them off.

Although the "F4" tanked, Fox is not giving up hopes to revive the characters. The studio is rumored to develop a new movie that will focus on the children of Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman. Fox is also expanding the "X-Men" cinematic universe. The next installments in the franchise include "X-Men: Dark Phoenix", "Deadpool 2", "The New Mutants" and "Gambit".
