Sophie Turner and Shannon Purser Defend Finn Wolfhard After Fan Called Him 'Rude'

In a video posted on Twitter, the 'It' actor was seen walking past a group of fans who asked for autographs, making one of them yell, 'That's so rude.'

AceShowbiz - Being a 14-year-old kid and a star at the same time is definitely not an easy thing to do. "Stranger Things" star Finn Wolfhard found himself landing in hot water after a fan branded him "rude" and "heartless" because he refused to stop for autographs.

In a video circulating on Twitter, a group of fans was spotted outside of a hotel, where the Canadian actor stayed, for an autograph. Fans could be heard saying, "We're really big fans," and, "Do you mind signing?" However, the "It" star walked past the fans, prompting a fan to comment, "That's so rude."

Retweeted over 3,000 times, the video was posted on the micro-blogging site alongside a caption which read, "Imagine being 14 and heartless that you can't even stop for your fans who made you famous in the first place! WOW."

Following the backlash, Sophie Turner took to Twitter on Monday, November 6 to defend Finn. "Damn… seeing fully grown adults wait outside the 'Stranger Things' kids' hotels etc, and then abuse them when they don't stop for them is super weird A. What adult in their right mind waits for a CHILD outside their hotel and B is then is offended when the CHILD doesn't stop," the "Game of Thrones" star wrote, denouncing the fans' behavior.

"It doesn't matter if they are an actor…they are kids first. Give them the space they need in order to grow without feeling like they owe anyone anything for living their childhood dreams," she added. "And how dare you shun and demean that child when they don't pose for an adult strangers photograph or walk over and talk to them when they take that NOT CONSENTED for photo. Doesn't that go against everything we teach our children anyway? Pshhhh. Some people man."

Not only Sophie, former "Stranger Things" actress Shannon Purser also came in Finn's defense. "Okay, no. No actor is under any obligation to stop for anyone. Finn is an incredibly kind human. But he's human and he needs breaks too," the Barb depicter tweeted.

Shannon further revealed that she once experienced "this on a significantly smaller scale, obviously." She added, "I've had people waiting for me in hotel lobbies, at my airport gate, etc. And I'm an adult. I can't imagine being inundated with all this attention at his age. It's intimidating."

"So, from one big sister to the world, don't you DARE make young actors feel guilty or indebted to you because they couldn't say hi," she went on writing. "They give you their art. They love their fans. Don't take advantage of that. And if you can't handle them needing space, stay away."
