During the tea party, which was deliberately informal for the sake of the actress, at Buckingham Palace, the royal couple and the Queen reportedly talked about the royal engagement.

AceShowbiz - It does seem like it's just a matter of time until we get official engagement announcement for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The British prince reportedly brought his actress girlfriend to meet the Queen last Thursday, October 12.

According to Daily Mail, the 33-year-old prince and the 36-year-old "Suits" actress drove a Ford Galaxy with blacked out windows which cruised to a halt at the Queen's private entrance at Buckingham Palace. The royal couple was said to enjoy an hour-long tea party with the Queen.

The site further reported that Harry's always been wanting his grandmother to meet divorcee. They couple, who arrived "in time for tea at around 5 P.M.," allegedly met the Queen in her "private sitting room on the first floor overlooking the palace gardens and Constitution Hill."

The teatime meeting was reportedly informal since they didn't want to make Meghan nervous as well as they didn't want the meeting to be widely publicized within the palace. Prince Philip was allegedly not present during the discreet tea party.

During the meeting, they brought up engagement into the discussion, the site reported. However, royal aides reportedly were extremely cautious about commenting on Harry's private life ever since the prince issued his edict about privacy.

It came after previous report suggested that the engagement announcement would arrive in November, after Meghan finishes filming season 7 of her USA Network's legal drama. The report further claimed that Harry and Meghan, who reportedly would exit "Suits" after season 7, would follow in Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton's footsteps by holding "a small photo call at Kensington Palace, with just one photographer and journalist invited."

The source added that on the same day, they most likely would "do a TV interview that will be syndicated around the world." While palace aides were being kept in the dark on the engagement, it was said that "these things are planned early in advance."
