The actor who voices Hiro Hamada in the Marvel animated superhero hero will portray Garfield 'Gar' Logan in the upcoming DC live-action series.

AceShowbiz - "Titans" has found its Beast Boy. Warner Brothers has signed on Ryan Potter to play Garfield "Gar" Logan, who has ability to transform into any animal, on the upcoming live-action adaptation of the DC comic book.

In the casting call, Beast Boy is described as funny and charming. This amateur thief's humor hides his insecurities and past pain. Not the toughest kid on the streets, he's learned to survive in the world with his wit and quick-thinking.

In the graphic novel, young Gar contracted the lethal disease, Sakutia, while on an African expedition with his geneticist parents. Treated with an experimental drug, he survived but not without developing some bizarre side effects. Along with skin and hair turning permanently green, the wisecracking, fun-loving Beast Boy is able to reshape himself into any animal of any size he can imagine.

Potter joins Brenton Thwaites ("Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales") who is cast as Dick Grayson, Lindsey Gort ("The Carrie Diaries") as Amy Rohrbach, Anna Diop ("24: Legacy") as Starfire, Teagan Croft ("The Osiris Child: Science Fiction Volume One") as Raven, Minka Kelly ("Friday Night Lights") as Hawk, and Alan Ritchson ("Smallville") as Dove.

"Titans" was initially set to debut on TNT. It's now going to debut on WB's new digital streaming service as a part of a DC-branded digital service which will be launched in 2018. Greg Berlanti, the mastermind behind numerous DC shows like "Arrow", "The Flash", "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" and "Supergirl", serves as one of the producers.

The show will follow young soon-to-be superheroes that come from every corner of the DC Universe. They are led by Grayson. In the comic books, he is most known as Batman's sidekick, Robin. He was taken under Bruce Wayne's wing after his parents were murdered. After years of fighting crime with The Dark Knight, he comes out of the caped crusader's shadow and forms his own new family, the Titans.

Ryan Potter, a 22-year-old martial artist, is best known as the voice behind Hiro Hamada in Marvel's animated superhero "Big Hero 6". He also voices the boy in the TV version airing on Disney XD.
