The network has given the navy drama a full-season pickup following its solid rating in the first three weeks, topping Wednesday's program in viewers.

AceShowbiz - CBS has given a full-season order to "SEAL Team", a Navy drama starring David Boreanaz. The network has ordered nine more episodes, bringing the series' freshman total episode to 22.

The full-season pickup comes after "SEAL Team" kicked off its first season with strong first three weeks, topping Wednesday's program in viewers. The military series averaged 12.04 million viewers and a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic during its first two hours. The most recent episode, meanwhile, averaged a 1.5 rating in the key demo and 8.9 million viewers.

Starring Boreanaz as Jason Hayes, the drama follows the professional and personal lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs as they train, plan and execute the most dangerous, high stakes missions our country can ask of them.

Boreanaz's Hayes is depicted as a respected, intense leader of the Tier One team whose home life has suffered as a result of his extensive warrior's existence. Neil Brown Jr. joins the cast and stars as Ray Perry, the longest-tenured operator with whom Jason shares an ingrained shorthand. Meanwhile, A.J. Buckley portrays exceptional, loyal soldier Sonny Quinn with Max Thieriot playing Clay Spenser, a young, multi-lingual second generation SEAL with insatiable drive and dedication.

"SEAL Team" is the second CBS freshman series to receive an early full-season order for the 2017-2018 season. The network previously gave a full-season pickup to "Young Sheldon", "The Big Bang Theory" spin-off, just days after its huge premiere, pulling in 98|percent| of its total lead-in audience from its flagship show. ABC also recently picked up Freddie Highmore-starring "The Good Doctor" for a full season.

Benjamin Cavell, Ed Redlich, Christopher Chulack, Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly are executive producers for CBS Television Studios. "SEAL Team" airs on Wednesdays at 9 P.M. on CBS.
