The 'Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen' host will be counting down the clock with none other that his bestie, Anderson Cooper, in the annual bash.

AceShowbiz - Andy Cohen will come as a replacement for Kathy Griffin on CNN's upcoming New Year's Eve broadcast. The "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" host and EP will be counting down the clock with none other that his bestie, Anderson Cooper.

"Andy is the life of the party wherever he goes, and what bigger party is there than New Year's Eve? It's going to be a blast," Cooper, who will once again co-host the annual bash, says in a statement.

Cohen adds, "I've been friends with Anderson for 25 years. We've traveled the world together and performed in 30-plus cities with 'AC2' and it's all led to this one huge night!"

The first openly gay host of an American late-night talk show also takes to his Twitter account to share his excitement. "The news is out! I'm co-hosting New Year's Eve on CNN with @andersoncooper and I could not be more excited!" he writes.

Recently, Cohen guest-starred on Cooper's primetime show on CNN. The host and EP of Bravo's "The Real Housewives" franchise offered an idea to produce a "Real Housewives"-ish reunion show for CNN featuring both the current and the former wives of President Donald Trump. It came after Trump's first wife Ivana Trump called herself First Lady, much to Melania Trump's anger.

CNN was forced to find a replacement for Griffin after the network fired Griffin following the controversial photo in which the host held a prop that was meant to represent Trump's bloody severed head. In less that 24 hours after the release of the infamous video, the network officially terminated the contract for the annual Time Square bash with the host. "CNN has terminated our agreement with Kathy Griffin to appear on our New Year's Eve program," CNN wrote on Twitter back in June.

"For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in," Cooper said of the comedian's viral photo. "It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate."
