The sequel to the 2016 fantasy film has also cast Derek Riddell and Poppy Corby-Tuech as Torquil Travers and Rosier respectively, both of whom are known as Lord Voldemort's Death Eaters.

AceShowbiz - The cast of Warner Bros.' sequel to last year's "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is shaping up. A new report has emerged revealing that former "The Daily Show" correspondent Jessica Williams (II) has joined the cast of the upcoming sequel in an undisclosed role.

Williams, who landed her first starring role in Netflix's comedy "The Incredible Jessica James", took to Twitter on Friday, October 6 to express her excitement. "HELLO THERE. I AM SCREAMING BECAUSE I AM GOING TO BE IN FANTASTIC BEASTS," she wrote.

Congratulating the 28-year-old actress and comedian for joining the cast, author J.K. Rowling replied the tweet, writing, "Soooooo happy," adding a face blowing a kiss emoji.

Additionally, Pottermore has revealed that a few familiar characters from "Harry Potter" will be featured in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2". First up is the infamous alchemist Nicolas Flamel, who was first mentioned in "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" and discovered the Elixir of Life. He will be portrayed by Brontis Jodorowsky.

Meanwhile, Derek Riddell has been cast as Torquil Travers and Poppy Corby-Tuech is set to portray Rosier. Both characters will infamously go on to become Death Eaters who served Lord Voldemort in the original series. As for the rest of the new cast members, they include Wolf Roth as Spielman, Victoria Yeates as Bunty and Cornell S John as Arnold Guzman.

J.K. Rowling wrote the screenplay for the film. It opens in 1927, a few months after Newt (Eddie Redmayne) helped to unveil and capture the infamous Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp). However, as he promised he would, Grindelwald has made a dramatic escape and has been gathering more followers to his cause--elevating wizards above all non-magical beings.

The only one who might be able to stop him is the wizard he once called his dearest friend, Albus Dumbledore, who will be played by Jude Law. But Dumbledore will need help from the wizard who had thwarted Grindelwald once before, his former student Newt Scamander.

The adventure reunites Newt with Tina (Katherine Waterston), Queenie (Alison Sudol) and Jacob (Dan Fogler), but his mission will also test their loyalties as they face new perils in an increasingly dangerous and divided wizarding world.

In addition, Pottermore promises "surprising nods to 'Harry Potter' stories that will delight fans of the books and film series." Directed by David Yates, the still-untitled "Fantastic Beasts" sequel is set for a November 16, 2018 release in theaters across the U.S.
