Corey McClendon, who is a friend of rapper Yo Gotti, has been arrested on a charge of attempted murder in the shooting of Young Dolph in front of a Hollywood hotel Tuesday afternoon.

AceShowbiz - Reports of new development in investigation into the shooting of rapper Young Dolph have surfaced. After previously named as a person of interest in the case, Yo Gotti has been cleared and is no longer a suspect in the shooting.

Meanwhile, Gotti's pal Corey McClendon was arrested shortly after the incident. He was charged with attempted murder in the shooting of Dolph in front of a Hollywood hotel on Tuesday afternoon, September 26.

Det. Meghan Aguilar, a spokeswoman for the LAPD, said on Wednesday that McClendon was arrested near the area the incident took place, by Highland Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard, and booked early Wednesday, though his role in the shooting is still unclear. He was being held on $1 million bail.

Investigators are still looking for two other men believed to have been involved in the fight with Dolph, which led to the shooting in the valet area of the Loews Hollywood hotel. Gotti and Dolph were both staying at the same hotel when their crews got into some sort of disagreement, TMZ previously reported.

Aguilar detailed the incident, "The argument between (Young Dolph) and the men escalated to a physical fight, and he fell to the ground. One of the men then pulled out a gun and started shooting. Young Dolph was struck but was able to get up and run into a local business."

Dolph, whose real name is Adolph Thornton Jr., was hit multiple times and taken to the local hospital. He's in critical but stable condition, Aguilar said.

McClendon and Gotti were previously involved in an argument with another rapper, OG Boo Dirty. McClendon was one of the men charged in the case, but a few months later all charges were dropped by the Shelby County District Attorney's Office because there weren't enough witnesses to the fight.

This isn't the first time Yo Gotti and Young Dolph were involved in a beef. On February 25 this year, Young Dolph was targeted in a gunfire in Charlotte, North Carolina. At the time, his SUV was shot at over 100 times, but he walked away unscathed. It was speculated that the shooting stemmed from a rivalry between Gotti and Dolph. Blac Youngsta, who is signed with Yo Gotti, eventually turned himself in.
