Director Josh Boone announces that they've entered into the final week of shooting when he offers a first glimpse of the upcoming movie's first logo.

AceShowbiz - "X-Men: The New Mutants" is close to wrapping production. Director Josh Boone has taken to his Instagram account to announce that they've entered into the final week of shooting while providing a first glimpse of the upcoming movie's bloody first logo. But it's still unclear if this will be the final title treatment.

The black-and-white logo featured in the clapperboard is a throwback to classic "X-Men" lettering. It simply reads "The New Mutants" in block letters and there is a bit of color to it. Judging by the giant blood stained splattered across the logo, it seems like Boone was not exaggerating when he said before that the upcoming "X-Men" spin-off would be a "full-fledged horror movie."

Besides the bloody first logo, another interesting detail is featured in the clapperboard. There's a lone figure standing in a snowy landscape under the night sky, with his/her back turned to onlookers. There is also a trail of blood behind the person.

20th Century Fox has set "New Mutant" to hit theaters across the nation on April 13 next year. Boone ("The Fault in Our Stars") is directing the film from a script he co-wrote with Knate Lee ("Kidnap"). The film is reportedly based on the classic "Demon Bear" storyline that has Moonstar as a central character. A Native American telepath, she's originally codenamed Psyche and later Mirage.

The upcoming flick has tapped Maisie Williams to play Wolfsbane, Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik, Charlie Heaton as Sam Guthrie a.k.a. Cannonball, Blu Hunt as Danielle Moonstar, and Henry Zaga to portray Sunspot. Additionally, it's reported that Alice Braga has landed a role in the flick. The "Queen of the South" actress is cast as Dr. Cecilia Reyes, who was previously set to be played by Rosario Dawson. Other cast members include Happy Anderson and Mickey Gilmore.
