Robert is 'a mysterious prisoner aboard the long-distance mining mission sent from our time' who will be 'formidable antagonist to our heroes.'

AceShowbiz - "The 100" has found its new villain in William Miller. The Spanish actor has been tapped to join the upcoming season 5 cast to play a villainous character named Robert McCreary, TVLine reports.

According to the official character description, Robert is "a mysterious prisoner aboard the long-distance mining mission sent from our time." The character is further described as "a former enforcer from a powerful crime syndicate, his ruthless, violent methods make him a formidable antagonist to our heroes."

Fans believe that the phrase "from our time" refers to the real world today. It makes sense since "The 100" is set in a dystopian future, around a century after a nuclear apocalypse devastated the Earth. Even the time of the disaster seems to be set far in the future.

Following this theory, William's character seemingly will be over a hundred years old. It is unknown how he is alive and survived the nuclear.

William previously starred on "Searchers" pilot which hailed from "The 100" creator Jason Rothenberg. Jason and fellow "The 100" EP Dean White "fell in love with William [on 'Searchers'] and are thrilled to be working with him again on 'The 100'."

The addition of Miller in the cast is not the only change on The CW's series. Tasya Teles, who portrays Echo on the series, is upped to series regular for the upcoming season. Meanwhile, Clarke's (Eliza Taylor) "daughter" Madi, originally portrayed by Imogen Tear in the fourth season finale, will now be played by Lola Flanery ("Shadowhunters"). In addition, Jordan Bolger and Ivana Milicevic have joined the cast in recurring roles.

Also starring Marie Avgeropoulos, Bob Morley, Lindsey Morgan and Ricky Whittle, the upcoming season 5 of "The 100" is slated to kick off at midseason on The CW.
