AceShowbiz - A slew of fan-favorite characters are set to return to Beacon Hills for the upcoming series finale of "Teen Wolf". Among the returning characters are Stiles (Dylan O'Brien) and Derek (Tyler Hoechlin), who are featured in newly-released photos of series finale.

Making its way out online via Entertainment Weekly, one of the photos features Stiles, Lydia (Holland Roden), Derek and Scott (Tyler Posey). It seems like they are in the middle of planning an escape, fight or something else entirely as the war between humans and werewolves is coming.

Another photo focuses on Stiles and Lydia. Meanwhile, Derek looks fierce in the final photo as he can be seen transforming into his werewolf form.

Also set to return for the series finale are Kate (Jill Wagner), Jackson (Colton Haynes) and Ethan (Charlie Carver). "There were so many characters to wrap up. It was incredibly difficult [to write]," showrunner Jeff Davis speaks of season 10 of the series.

However, he assures fans that it won't be "a cut-to-black [ending] like 'The Sopranos.' " He adds, "We tried to craft an ending that feels right for the audience and for the characters."

Recently, Jackson and Ethan were confirmed to be a couple. "We're an odd couple," Charlie said to Entertainment Weekly. "His character's always been kind of an arrogant prick, so I'm the one who tones him down." Colton added, "They complement each other perfectly. They have a really beautiful relationship."

Although season 6 will mark the final season of the series, it doesn't mean that it will be the end of the franchise. MTV previously revealed that it planned to reboot "Teen Wolf" into a potential anthology in podcast form after the series wraps its run this summer.

"These characters and these stories have hit a peak," MTV president Chris McCarthy said. "We are talking with Jeff about how do we actually keep that franchise alive. And the beauty of the evolution of media is you can see the series going on through a series of podcasts and then see a resurrection of a new class in a couple years."

The sixth and final season of "Teen Wolf" airs Sundays at 8 P.M. ET on MTV.
