Carmelo Anthony Willing to Go to Marriage Counseling With La La After Vowing to Win Her Back
Celebrity

A source says that the NBA star 'has laid his cards out on the table, he's told La La he's willing to go to counselling if that's what she wants, and he's vowed to never take her for granted again.'

AceShowbiz - Carmelo Anthony is willing to do anything to win estranged wife La La Vazquez back. The 33-year-old basketball player allegedly knows he hurt La La, but he wants to do something to prove he won't do it again as he doesn't want to go through a divorce from her. An insider told HollywoodLife.com that Carmelo is ready to go to couple therapy if it could save their marriage.

"Carmelo knows he messed up with La La, and he's willing to do anything to set their marriage straight again," the source explained. "They'd been together for so long that he just started taking her for granted, and like, just assumed she'd always be there. When La La told him she wanted to separate he was rocked to the core--at first he thought she was just bluffing, and when he realized she wasn't he thought he could talk her around. But she stuck to her guns, and it rocked Carmelo to the core."

"It's kind of a case of you don't know what you go till it's gone, and it's only now that he truly appreciates everything she's done for him," the source continued. "La La's been there by Carmelo's side throughout it all, good and bad. She's his rock, and La La and [son] Kiyan are everything to him. The time they've spent apart has only proven to Carmelo how much he loves La La, and he can't imagine a future without her."

According to the source, "Carmelo's engaged in a lot of self-reflection over the past couple of months, and he's sick at himself for how he treated La La." The New York Knicks player "has laid his cards out on the table, he's told La La he's willing to go to counselling if that's what she wants, and he's vowed to never take her for granted again."

A source close to La La previously told HollywoodLife.com that Carmelo's "made it crystal clear to La La that he wants her back--she's his world, his everything, and their split just cemented that even further for him." The source added, "Carmelo messed up, the fame went to his head, he started taking La La for granted, and that's something he regrets more than anything."

Carmelo and La La tied the knot in July 2010, nearly six years after they first got engaged on Christmas Day 2004. They "amicably" split after 7 years of marriage back in April. The athlete and the former MTV host were said having no plans to file for divorce at the time. 10-year-old Kiyan is their only child.
