It appears that Elliot joins a tournament as a decoy to get access to a certain domain before some people who have his sister interrupt him.

AceShowbiz - Elliot (Rami Malek) is back in action in a clip for "Mr. Robot" season 3. Sharing new footage from the upcoming installment of the psychological thriller, the one-minute sneak peek sees Elliot joining a tournament or sort with a bigger motive.

A man congratulates him after winning the tournament, but Elliot looks annoyed and tells the man to leave him alone. Elliot continues typing something as he explains in voiceover that he attempts to access a certain domain without being noticed by the Dark Army.

Just when he is about to finish, someone interrupts him. He doesn't pay attention at first, even when a woman calls his name, until his computer gets shut down. Some guys who have the woman with them asks Elliott to come with them. The woman's face can't be clearly seen since it's dark, but she looks like Darlene (Carly Chaikin).

The 10-episode season 3 of "Mr. Robot" will premiere Wednesday, October 11 at 10 P.M. ET on USA Network. Creator and executive producer Sam Esmail said in July about what to expect from the upcoming installment, "Season 3 is about Elliot trying to bounce back and fight against the people who have been using him. Elliot isn't going to take this lying down."

Of the season 2 finale's cliffhanger in which Elliott was bleeding out from a gunshot, Esmail said, "I never intended to have the question of his condition be lingering between seasons 2 and 3. We respect the audience too much to leave that as a cliffhanger." Thus, Elliott's fate will be revealed early in the first episode.

"Vinyl" alum Bobby Cannavale joins the cast as Irving, a used car salesman, though it appears that there's more than that about this new character judging from a scene in a previously released teaser, which features Irving being flanked by two men who are wearing masks and holding guns.
