Words are the couple's time apart has led to 'many fights' and whenever they're together they are 'at each other's throats.'

AceShowbiz - Are Selena Gomez and The Weeknd on the brink of breaking up? The couple has only been dating for eight months, but rumor has it their relationship has been strained lately because their busy schedules prevent them from spending many time together.
"They've gone from being madly in love to being at each other's throats," a source tells In Touch (as quoted by OK!). "They've hardly been spending any time together lately, and it's led to many fights." The source adds, "Selena's been busy promoting her new hit, 'Fetish', while The Weeknd has been gearing up for the next leg of his 'Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour' [which begins in September]."
Apparently, Selena's trust issues also cause a problem in their relationship. "When they are together, Selena's trust issues get in the way. Whenever The Weeknd's phone rings or he gets a text, Selena looks over his shoulder to see who it is and it drives him crazy," the source continues.
Their relationship has gone so bad that "if they were to break up, no one would be surprised," the source claims.
Selena and The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, were indeed rarely seen together lately. The "Starboy" hitmaker wasn't even there when the former Disney darling celebrated her 25th birthday at home with her family and close friends, because he was in Paris for his concert.
They only reunited the next day, during when they were seen having a lunch date in Los Angeles. They held a drink each while leaving the eatery.
Most recently, the lovebirds were spotted watching a comedy show together at the Laugh Factory in West Hollywood. They appeared to have a good time as they were sharing a laugh during the August 11 date night.
The famous club shared on Instagram a photo of the couple sitting in the upper mezzanine. "Date night at the Laugh Factory with The Weeknd and Selena Gomez," read the caption of the picture. Comedian Tacarra Williams also boasted about performing before the singer/actress by sharing a video of them waving to the camera.
