'Marvel's Runaways' Adds 'Fantastic Four' Star Julian McMahon as Jonah

Jonah plays a pivotal role in the main characters' rebellion against their parents, while his origins and ultimate intentions are currently unknown.

AceShowbiz - "Marvel's Runaways" continues to take shape with new casting announcement. The upcoming Hulu series has added Julian McMahon ("Fantastic Four") to its growing cast. McMahon is tapped to take on the role of Jonah.

"We're incredibly excited to add Julian to our exceptional cast and we can't wait to see what he brings to the world of 'Marvel's Runaways'," says executive producers and showrunners Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.

Variety reports that Jonah plays a pivotal role in the main characters' rebellion against their parents, who are known as The Pride. Details of the character, including his origins and ultimate intentions, are kept tightly under wraps.

McMahon is no stranger to Marvel universe as he previously starred as Dr. Doom in 2005's "Fantastic Four" as well as its 2007 sequel "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer". In addition to "Fantastic Four" movies, his credits include "Nip/Tuck", "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency", "Flammable Children" and "Childhood's End".

"Marvel's Runaways" follows "a group of six teenagers in the Marvel universe - Nico Minoru, Karolina Dean, Molly Hayes, Chase Stein, Alex Wilder, and Gertrude Yorkes - who discover that their parents are secretly members of a supervillain cabal called The Pride. After deciding they're no longer safe in their own homes, the kids go on the run. In the midst of hiding from their elders, the teens learn about themselves and become a family of their own."

Starring Gregg Sulkin, Virginia Gardner, Allegra Acosta, Ariela Barer, Brigid Brannagh, Ever Carradine, Rhenzy Feliz and Brittany Ishibashi, the series is executive produced by Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. Showrunners/writers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage join Loeb and Chory in executive producing the series.

"Marvel's Runaways" is slated to premiere on Tuesday, November 21 on Hulu.
