The two hosts approached the iconic record producer during recent taping of "Boy Band". When asked about the "Justney" collaboration, Timbaland, who thought they asked about Justin's new music, said, "It's coming! New music, 2018." The hosts realized that he misheard them, saying, "No, no. Justney, Justney! Justin and Britney and you."
Upon hearing it, Timbaland's eyes allegedly widened. The podcast's hosts shared, "He turns his head slightly to the side because he knows exactly what he's saying, he grins and he's like, 'Oh, it's coming!' "
Justin and Britney, who dated from 1999 to 2002, have been rumored to hit the studio together since forever. While the two are renowned pop stars, the Hollywood former couple never duet on a song. Last year, the pop princess fueled the speculation by saying that she would love to team up with her ex for a new music. "Justin Timberlake is very good," she said.
In response to Britney's remark, the former member of NSYNC gushed, "She did? Sure! Absolutely, absolutely. I have a 17 month old so I don't get the headline news. I apologize for being not in the know. I'm accessible, give us a call!"
